Texas Star Party May 10-17, 2026z

The Texas Star Party was held at the Prude Ranch near Ft. Davis, Texas under Bortle 2 skies near the McDonald Observatory in west Texas.
Over 300 attendees enjoyed the event this year. The TSP board and volunteers worked hard this year to make this a terrific event.
In addition to the very engaging evening speakers, for the first time TSP organized special interest group sessions for astrophotography, smart telescopes, visual observing and citizen science – and they also provided a new custom TSP app to help attendees during the event.
I also enjoyed a special McDonald observatory tour and a two day hands-on Pixinsight class taught by Jon Talbot.
Next year TSP is scheduled for May 2-9, 2027.
