It was a cold cloud covered evening but that did not spoil our AOW event at the Ft. Bend County Fulshear Branch on Thursday December 4th starting at 5:30pm and ending at 7:30pm.
Our first reaction was wow. The building looked brand new (built in 2023). It was massive, very modern looking and attracted many local residents to come out during such a drury evening. The reaction from one of our volunteers was “I wish we had libraries like this when I was a kid”.
The library staff was very accommodating as we set up our telescopes just inside the entrance and pointed them across the huge main room at pictures of Saturn, Jupiter and Mars that we hung up on a far wall.
Inside presenting was Bill Spizzirri and Tony Wiese. Bill presented on the Moon and Tony had his interesting Astronomy facts presentation.
The telescopes were perfect for the indoor event. They were small, portable and a good mix of designs.
Sean Carey brought his small 5 inch Celestron Schmidt Cassegrain. Wendy Walfoort brought her tabletop Orion SkyScanner Newtonian. I brought my 72mm AstroTech doublet refractor
Bill and Tony continued their presentations until after 7pm. We had the telescopes setup near the presentation room so people could look through the telescopes as they went to and from the presentation. I think we had about 30 people show up for the event which was great considering the weather and the kids were all well behaved.
This was a fun event and we all thought it would be wonderful to do it again next year and hopefully have a clear night. The library staff agreed.
Lastly I want to thank Bill, Tony, Wendy and Sean for braving the elements and the long drive to attend this event.

So I’ve downloaded the king88app but haven’t dove in too deep. Looks pretty solid from what I can tell. Worth exploring if you’re hunting for a new app. king88app
Yo, qq88app! Just tried it out, pretty slick. Found some cool games and the navigation wasn’t a headache. Def worth checking out if you’re looking for something new. Check it out here: qq88app
Alright alright, gave 77winapp a go. Wasn’t blown away, but it’s solid. Games are decent, and the signup process was quick. Could be better, but hey, it’s not terrible. See for yourself: 77winapp
