Okie-Tex 2025 Star Party

My husband and I went to the Okie-Tex star party in Kenton, Oklahoma for the first time this year.  The star party was held over eight nights (from September 19 to 27) under very dark skies, and was hosted by the Oklahoma City Astronomy Club.

In addition to dark skies, the observing fields are set up so that people can camp next to their astronomy gear – which was very convenient.

Overall, the weather was fairly nice.  There was a bad storm Saturday night, but most nights were very clear and with only a slight breeze.

Around 400 people attended the party, and of course there was lots of chatting and collaborating on how to image or find this or that object.  During the day, there were talks given on a variety of topics.

  1. Yo, the rr88app is pretty slick. Interface is smooth and loading times are fast. Seen a few friends playing there too, so it must be decent. Take a peek if you’re feeling lucky. rr88app

  2. Been playing the pg88game for a bit now. It’s alright, nothing crazy but keeps me entertained. Graphics are good and the gameplay is smooth. Maybe you’ll dig it too! pg88game
