Astronomy On Wheels – 11/11/25 – Townewest Elementary, Sugar Land

The clear skies and cool mild temperature were about as perfect as it gets at the November 11th AOW at Townewest elementary in Sugar Land.

However, I first want to thank Corin Marasco for making the drive all the way from the Rice Village area to present to the kids about gravity.  Her presentation skills and knowledge were very impressive and I was so glad to have her join the AOW team.

On the outdoor basketball court we had Tony Wiese with the club’s 127mm TeleVue AOW refractor showing great views of Saturn.  Steve Clayworth had his Questar Maksutov also on Saturn.  Both those scopes are some really high quality optics.  Bill Dillon had his Questar pointed at the double star Albireo in Cygnus and his SeeStar on the galaxy M33.  Mac Hooton had his SeeStar on M32 a satellite galaxy of Andromeda.  The kids were treated to great views as perfect as it could get from the northwest Sugar Land location.

I wanted to thank all the volunteers who made it out.  This makes three AOW events in five days.  Our next one will be Tuesday November 18th at United Methodist Church West in Fulshear for Cub Scouts pack 49.
