The Fort Bend Astronomy Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to the acquisition and dissemination of information pertaining to the science of Astronomy. Located in Stafford, Texas, FBAC's goal is to serve not only our members, but the general public as well. FBAC members hail from all corners of Harris, Fort Bend, Waller, and Brazoria counties.

The mission goals of the Fort Bend Astronomy Club is observing, sharing, teaching, and promiting astronomy. We pride ourselves in our outreach efforts to schools, public and private entities, as well as providing expertise and volunteers to the George Observatory located at Brazos Bend State Park.

During the past 30+ years, we have impacted over 200,000 people and contributed to the scientific astronomy community, using our club-owned 18-in.-aperture Newtonian reflector that is located in the East Dome of the Houston Museum of Natural Science's George Observatory.  We currently are conducting a program to secure the future of these good works, by replacing the current telescope with more modern and maintainable equipment.  If you wish to learn more about our work at the George Observatory, our East Dome renovation program, and how you can help, please visit our New East Dome Renovation web page. 

FBAC holds monthly meetings and members regularly get together to observe at the George Observatory (Since reopening in March of 2021, the HMNS decided that attendance is limited for the general public which must purchase tickets in advance). The George Observatory is a satellite facility of the Houston Museum of Natural Science, located within Brazos Bend State Park.
