FBAC List of Items Needed

"FBAC Donation Wish List" of items needed that would help FBAC members better educate the public when they volunteer at the either the George Observatory, or at the club's Astronomy On Wheels events - where we go out to area schools. Updated by Tony Wiese 1/20/13

Wired or Wireless public announcement system

The Fort Bend Astronomy Club is in need of a Public Announcement System. This tax-deductible contribution would be a well received, permanent system at the George Observatory in Brazos Bend State Park. Our goal is to have two microphones for broadcasting from either the Research Dome or the Gift Shop. We would also need wired or wireless weatherproof speakers that are mounted on outside and inside of the East Dome and West Dome, and on the outside of both sides of the Research Dome, as well as downstairs outside of the East and West entrances and in multiple ceiling speakers in the gift shop and display area. The goal is to better allow the public to hear when seminars are being started, and to hear which group and time slot are allowed to enter the Research Dome. Additionally, it would allow paging throughout the observatory complex.
